| AccuSplit
was designed to rapidly and reliably split large files into
smaller segments to allow for easy archival to external
media like CD-R, Zip or floppy disks. These file segments
can then be recombined at a later time into an exact copy
of the original file. The application was initially developed
to split very large MPEG or AVI video files into smaller
segments so that they could be moved from the hard drive
onto inexpensive CD-R disks, thereby freeing up significant
hard disk space. However the application is capable of segmenting
and then correctly reconstructing ANY file, even non-Windows
format files. |

Shredder is a program to split a large file into smaller
files. You can specify either how many pieces to split the
file, or how big (in KB) to split the file. Or you have
the option of filling the entire disks, which is convenient
if you would like to split a file into multiple floppy disks.
When File Shredder splits a file, it automatically generates
a DOS batch file that will be used to combine smaller files
into one big file. Since it is a normal batch file with
DOS commands inside, you can combine files together in any
PCs without installing any programs--not even File Shredder.
Of course, the batch file works under Windows 3.1 machine,
Windows 95/NT machine, or even an old MS-DOS machine. |

| BananaSplitter
is yet another file/directory splitting/merging program,
with lot of features. BananaSplitter can split single files
or directory trees into a number of predefined or user defined
sizes, using compression and password encryption if needed,
to a destination directory, or to a stack of floppies, or
directly send the file segments as email attachments. BananaSplitter
is also used to merge files or directory trees back to the
original file. Additionally, a self-extracting file can
be generated, which is freely distributable. During the
merge procedure, the integrity of the files is checked.
Integrity checking can also be done without merging the
files. After merging, the file segments can automatically
be deleted and the file automatically launched. BananaSplitter
can set a wide range of options, can be launched automatically
from Explorer by file associations, or accept files to Split
or Merge using Drag-and-Drop. All settings are saved and
restored between sessions. BananaSplitter runs equally well
